Magic fingertips

23.05.2016

Each and every one of us can be more connected to the energy surrounding us with the simple touch of our fingers. Our bodies can be in tune with the cosmos through the natural properties of our fingertips, which can help with any issues or ease any pains. It may be something that not every person out there would be open to and it has to be said that you can’t have a close mind while practising these techniques. But, just be open minded, try and I’m sure you’ll be converted to thinking about the cosmic connection you hold.

CHART OF FINGERS

  1. Thumb - fire – stomach

  2. Index – air – respiration

  3. Middle – cosmos – crown

  4. Fourth – earth – digestive

  5. Little – water – sexual organs

During mediation sit crossed legged and hold your thumb to each of the other fingers on the hand to aid with a different issue. The thumb can be tucked next to the second to stop any stomach trouble. If you're suffering from breathing trouble then touch your thumb and index finger, which controls air, together. Any headaches can be eased with the touch of thumb and middle, while the fourth earth finger aids digestion. Finally, for any period cramps ladies hold your little finger and thumb together.

It does all sound simple on our part but the transfers of energy are still too big for us to understand. Connecting the correct fingers for each segment of our bodies lets the energy run freely through each of the chakras in the body, which will avoid illness. When the energy gets blocked it causes pain or illness to a certain area which can equate to stomach cramps and headaches to us, which is where this technique steps in to ease the problem. See below the seven chakras in the body.

  1. Base of spine – root chakra – for grounding

  2. Below navel – sacral chakra – for acceptance

  3. Stomach – solar plexus chakra – for confidence

  4. Heart – heart chakra – for loving

  5. Throat – throat chakra – for communicating

  6. Forehead – third eye chakra – for focus

  7. Top of the head – crown chakra – for fully connecting spiritually

There may be some who are still disbelieving of these simple techniques and the belief behind the energy that surrounds us, but the way that I learnt about this is through someone who certainly wasn’t disbelieving – a Balinese yogi now teaching in Ubud. Hearing the way that he would speak about these practices inspired me to believe and try them myself. He simply believes that the mind and body should all be in tune with each other and their surroundings for the happiest, healthiest and most balanced life and now I agree with him.
