'Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.'

On the 25th May the Design Centre opened their doors to an exhibition which honours a woman who is still so loved many years after her death. The 'Legacy of a Legend' exhibition gives the general public an inside view to the star's life, displaying some of her own personal belongings and costumes and jewellery she wore in a selection of the many films she starred in.

"If you can make a woman laugh, you can make her do anything."

Marilyn Monroe, whose name was Norma Jeane Mortenson when she was born, is still known today as a sex symbol and inspirational screen siren. Her iconic blond hair, red lip and beautifully natural figure will always be remembered. Her life was cut short sadly as she died of a drug overdose in 1962 at only 36 years old, but throughout her career she had managed to earn around a whopping $200 million.

"I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I'm out of control, and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best."
