Shoop shoop...

On my way to work today I'm trying to forget the fact that this time last week I was in the beautiful French Alps with five of my best girl friends, stuffing our faces with cheese and booze and partying in the mountains. The French have got it sorted really - they spend the day working and breaking by clearing their heads skiing in the crisp clean air. Then in the evenings they can walk around the romantic, snowy, fairy light lit town and find a cute restaurant serving cheesy fondue. Oh how I have dreams about that cheese fondue.

Our days would consist of having a little lie in (nursing a hangover most days) ans then filling ourselves with eggs bread and cheese. Then we'd walk our skis to the gondola to make our way up the mountain. We definitley had a good work out all week as carrying those things alone works all the muscles. We'd ski for a few hours (I only fell over a couple of times and most were because I was taken out by another human being yay) then apres would begin at 3pm and we'd go to this amazing bar called Pano which I'd recommend to anyone. Panoramic views of the alps while you're sipping on beer peche and dancing? You can't beat it. For the evening we went out for a couple of beautiful meals (fondue, burgers) or cooked at home and then got ready to try the different bars and clubs on offer. As there were two birthdays in our group while we were out there it's safe to say we partied hard.

Although we all need atleast another week worth of holiday to recover from our time in Les Deux Alpes it has refreshed and cleared our heads for the fast pace of london again. I have to say though there's something about the peaceful surroundings out there that can make it clear why people do seasons, and I sort of half wish I'd pursued that wish when I was younger. Now instead, money permitting, my friends and I have just promised ourselves an annual trip. I cant wait until next year already. Until next time Les Deux Alpes you beautiful thing.
